What we treat
Benzodiazepine treatment, with a supervised taper.
Xanax, Klonopin, Ativan, Valium. This is the one withdrawal you genuinely should not attempt alone, and the reason is medical rather than motivational.
Why the taper matters
Stopping abruptly can cause seizures
Benzodiazepine withdrawal is one of the few that can be dangerous without medical management. Quitting cold turkey is not brave here; it is risky.
The taper is slow on purpose
Reducing gradually, under supervision, is what keeps the nervous system from rebounding. It takes longer than people want it to, and that is the point.
What was it treating?
Most benzodiazepine prescriptions started with anxiety, panic or sleep. If that is not addressed, the prescription tends to return. Dual diagnosis →
Currently taking these and worried about stopping?
Do not stop on your own first. Call and we will talk through what a safe taper looks like.

Questions people ask us
Is quitting Xanax cold turkey dangerous?
Yes, genuinely. Seizures are a real risk with abrupt discontinuation after sustained use. More on this →
How long does a taper take?
It depends on the dose, the specific medication and how long you have been taking it. It is set clinically rather than to a calendar.
My doctor prescribed these. Am I an addict?
Physical dependence and addiction are not the same thing, and you do not need to settle that question before getting help with the taper.
Do you treat mental health alongside this?
Yes, in the same plan rather than as a referral out. Treatment here is overseen by psychologists, psychiatrists and counsellors. Dual diagnosis →
Will my employer or family find out?
Not from us. Nothing is shared with anyone without your written authorization.
What does it cost?
That depends on your plan. Most major insurance is accepted, verification is free and takes about five minutes. Verify insurance →
