What we treat
Drug treatment for men, with detox on site.
Whatever it started as — a prescription, a night out, something to keep the day going — the shape it takes now is what we treat. Not the story of how it began.
What we treat here
Residential treatment for men in Newhall and Agua Dulce, with medically supervised detox in the same house.
Opioids and painkillers
Prescription painkillers, heroin and fentanyl. Withdrawal is manageable with the right medical support. Opioid treatment →
Stimulants
Methamphetamine and cocaine. The physical crash is only the first week; the psychological work takes longer. Meth → · Cocaine →
Benzodiazepines
Xanax, Klonopin, Valium and Ativan. This is one of the few withdrawals that has to be tapered rather than stopped. Benzos →
Not sure which of these describes it?
It is often more than one. Describe it on the phone and we will tell you what treatment would look like.
What makes it hard to stop alone
The body adapts
Dependence is a physical adaptation, not a lack of willpower. That is why stopping produces symptoms that have nothing to do with wanting to.
The environment stays the same
The same rooms, the same phone, the same people. Residential treatment interrupts that long enough for something else to take hold.
Something underneath is usually driving it
Depression, anxiety, trauma. Treating the substance alone tends not to hold. Dual diagnosis →
How treatment is put together
Evaluation and, if needed, detox
A medical history and physical on arrival determines whether detox is required. It happens here, with staff watching. About detox →
The residential program
Individual therapy, group therapy, CBT, EMDR, family counseling, medication-assisted treatment where it is appropriate, and time outdoors.
Aftercare and the alumni program
Built before discharge, not handed over on the way out. Aftercare →
Talk it through with someone who has done this before.
No script, no pressure. We will tell you honestly if we are not the right fit.
Questions people ask us
Do you use medication-assisted treatment?
Where it is clinically appropriate, yes. MAT is one of the services offered here and the decision is made with you, not for you.
How long will I be here?
The residential program is built around 30 days, with length flexible by clinical recommendation.
What if I am using more than one thing?
That is the common case rather than the exception, and the plan is built for it.
Can my family be involved?
Yes. Family counseling is part of the program. For family members →
What do I need to bring?
There is a list, and it is worth reading before you pack. Things to bring →
