Help for Family Members
If you are struggling with how to get a loved one the help they need, you are not alone. You may feel sad, scared, angry – or, likely – some complex combination of emotions. We know that you are suffering alongside your loved one, and we have the tools to help you both heal.
How to Intervene
At Valley Recovery, we take a supportive approach to intervention that is rooted in love because we have found that this approach tends to be much more successful than strategies that involve criticism or ultimatums.
We can provide you with a free consultation on how to stage your own intervention if you plan to intervene yourself. We can also help you identify the boundaries you need to set for yourself if your loved one is not willing to get help.
If you want the help of a professional interventionist, we can offer this type of coach who can increase the chances that your loved one agrees to enter a recovery program.
Professional interventionist services tend to cost between $2000 and $5000. While there is a significant cost for these services, the success rate for professionally-guided interventions are high.
What We Do At Valley Recovery
At Valley Recovery, we empower our patients to lead the life they have imagined for themselves. As part of our commitment to each patient’s personal journey, we offer patients full access to our knowledgeable owner and to a wide variety of services. We provide a plethora of opportunities so that patients can mold the experience of recovery into what works best for them.
Preparing for the Stay
Once a patient is verified into our program, he will undergo a short (20 to 30 minute) screening with a personal case manager. His case manager will work with him to ensure that all the logistics related to joining a recovery program are properly addressed. For instance, if you are not going to drop your loved one off at our facilities, we can arrange transportation for him. Before he joins us, our case manager will send him a list of things you should plan to pack, as well as the things he should plan to leave at home.
Paying for Treatment
We do not believe that the financial burden of staying at a recovery center should prevent the critical treatment addicts need, so we do everything we can to make our patients’ stays affordable. We are in network with most major insurance providers and offer a sliding scale rate for those paying out of pocket.

When Patients Arrive
Once your loved one arrives at our facilities, he will be evaluated by a healthcare provider. Within 48 hours, he will also undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
During his initial detox period, he will be in a private room in a small setting that includes rooms for 5 other men. This medically-supervised time of 3 to 7 days will involve monitoring of his vital signs, sleep patterns, symptoms. We will check on him every 15 to 30 minutes during his detoxification to ensure he is safely enduring the detox.
While he is in detox, he can relax and focus mentally on detox, or he can begin to engage in our other services. There is no right way to spend time during detox, and we encourage our patients to do what feels most natural to them and to engage in activities that make them most comfortable.
This process is similar regardless of the specific substance from which your loved one is detoxing. Substances, for instance, may include:
- Marijuana
- Methamphetamines
- Opioids
- Suboxone
- Alcohol
- Benzodiazepines
- Cocaine
- Heroine
Addiction Treatment for Family Members
Scientific research has shown that there are multiple ways that treatment can effectively help people overcome substance abuse and addiction. Because we are committed to your successful recovery, we offer a range of treatment modalities so that we can work together to determine which approach is most likely to work for your loved one and to customize treatment accordingly along the way.
Each patient will have between 6 and 8 professionally-guided sessions each week, which will be individualized to their needs and preferences.
- Patients meet with their substance abuse counselor twice each week.
- Patients see our hypnotherapist once each week.
- Patients have a weekly session with their case manager, who will be committed to developing an infrastructure for their continued recovery success. By taking a global view of their personal situation – past, current, and future, the case manager will put together a plan for their return home and will continue to be there as a support for them after their stay with us, indefinitely. The case manager will take care of paperwork, such as that related to disability and insurance on their behalf.
In addition to addiction treatment, we provide educational support for family members as well as services to facilitate family communication throughout the recovery process. These services are led by licensed family and marriage counselors with deep expertise in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
